Our Lady's Abingdon - Why Choose OLA Lower School?

Why Choose OLA Lower School?

What' so different about Key Stage 2?

OLA Lower School begins at Key Stage 2 (Year 3).

Research has shown that between the ages of 7 and 8 children develop the attitudes, abilities and relationships that help them to succeed in education and also begin to gain a level of independence in their learning. It is therefore important for your child to be in the right school, receiving the right stimulus to direct this development.

Why OLA?

We deliver this stimulus very successfully through six key factors that set us apart from other Preparatory, Junior or Primary schools. This includes all of the access our Lower School pupils have to our Senior School facilities and staff expertise. Find out more by clicking the button below.

No Entrance Exam for Year 7

Another bonus for OLA Lower School pupils is that no entrance exam is required for them to transition into Year 7 in our Senior School thereby removing stress for both pupil and parent! You can find out more by clicking the transition button below.

Help for the school run

If your time is tight in the morning and at the end of the working day we can help. School opens at 8.00am and after-school care is available until 5.30pm helping you to more easily manage the school run and your own commitments.

We also provide School Transport for pupils in Years 4 to 6. Find out more about our extensive bus routes on the button below.

Happy Children

The biggest test though of any school is how happy the children are. Our Year 3 have written reports about all they have done during last term – click the button below to read them. As you will see, they shine with excitement – enjoy!

Come and see us

If you want to find out more about all of the good things and success OLA can offer your child, we are planning to offer taster days in our Lower School early in 2021 for families interested in joining us. To find out more contact admissions@ola.org.uk.
