Our Lady's Abingdon

Welcome to Our Lady's Abingdon (OLA), a co-educational independent day school nestled in the heart of Oxfordshire.

With a proud history dating back to 1860, OLA has been a beacon of educational excellence and personal growth for over 160 years.

Our school is dedicated to nurturing the unique talents and potential of every student in a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Our Values

At OLA, we believe in the transformative power of co-education. By learning and growing together, boys and girls develop mutual respect, understanding, and lifelong friendships.

Our values are rooted in equality, inclusivity, and the holistic development of each child, preparing them for the diverse and dynamic world beyond school.

Head- Daniel Gibbons Head's Welcome

Our Head, Mr. Daniel Gibbons, warmly welcomes you to OLA. He emphasizes the theme of 'Transformation'—not just change, but striving to be the best we can be. Mr. Gibbons feels honoured and privileged to lead a school where pupil achievement and pastoral care are excellent, and where the pupils themselves are truly fantastic. His vision is to continue building on OLA's rich heritage while embracing innovation and excellence in all aspects of school life.

Academic Excellence

Our rigorous and diverse curriculum is designed to inspire a love of learning and intellectual curiosity.

From the early years through to Sixth Form, our dedicated and passionate teachers provide personalised support and guidance, ensuring that every student can achieve their full academic potential. Our commitment to academic excellence is reflected in our outstanding examination results and the success of our alumni in various fields.

Beyond the Classroom

Education at OLA extends far beyond the classroom. We offer a wealth of opportunities for personal growth and development through a wide range of co-curricular activities, including sports, arts, music, drama, and community service. Our students participate in local and international trips, gaining invaluable experiences and broadening their horizons. These activities help to build confidence, leadership skills, and a sense of social responsibility.

Catholic Ethos

OLA is deeply rooted in the Catholic tradition. Our ethos is centred on the values of compassion, integrity, and service to others.
We welcome students of all faiths and none, fostering an environment of mutual respect and understanding.
Our spiritual life includes regular Masses, prayer services, and opportunities for reflection, helping students to develop a strong moral compass and a sense of social justice.
The Catholic ethos permeates all aspects of school life, encouraging students to live out the values of kindness, empathy, and community service in their daily lives.
