OLA Students Shine at Oxfordshire Schools Cross Country Championships

The Oxfordshire Schools Cross Country Championships, held on Thursday, 30th January, saw 16 enthusiastic students from OLA compete against some of the best young athletes in the county. Despite challenging conditions, with mud making the courses even more demanding, our students delivered impressive performances across various age groups.

In the Senior Boys category (Years 12/13), Will from LVI showcased exceptional endurance and skill, securing a remarkable 2nd place finish. His determination and competitive spirit were evident as he raced against tough competition, earning a well-deserved spot on the podium. Excitingly, Will's performance has earned him a spot in the nationals, and we look forward to cheering him on as he represents OLA on a bigger stage.

Our Year 7 students also demonstrated their athletic prowess in the Minor Boys group. Sam achieved an impressive 9th place, while Chetas followed closely, finishing in 10th place. Both students navigated the muddy terrain with resilience, making their mark among the top runners in their category.

In the Junior Girls group (Years 8/9), Flora from Year 9 delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 7th despite the challenging conditions. Her tenacity and dedication were evident as she pushed through the race, making OLA proud.

All 16 OLA participants showed commendable effort and sportsmanship throughout the event. Their hard work and perseverance, are a testament to their commitment to athletics and personal growth.

We are incredibly proud of all our runners for their fantastic achievements and the way they represented OLA. Their enthusiasm and team spirit were on full display, and it was heartwarming to see how much fun they had competing and supporting each other. The camaraderie and joy they experienced made the event truly special.

Keep up the great work, OLA athletes!
