OLA Parents’ Association
At OLA we have a thriving Parents’ Association that is, and has been, an integral part of the OLA community for decades.
Get involved:
- Fundraising | Social events | Second-hand uniform shop
- Friends and community
Classlist which is available via a free app or online, is a program that allows parents to safely share contact details with their class or year group. It is completely optional to join and it is entirely up to you how much information you want to share, with whom, and what communications you would like to receive. Your details are not shared with anyone and are protected by GDPR guidelines. A copy of the OLA PA Privacy Policy is available on Classlist.
Getting Involved
All parents and members of the school are encouraged to get involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available. All families automatically become members of the OLA PA when their child joins our school.
There are lots of ways parents can help and if you would like to be more involved you can volunteer by contacting the Chair on parentsassoc@ola.org.uk or any committee member via Classlist.
OLA PA is a Charity registered with the Charities Commission – Number 1172463.
We are a member of Parentkind, the UK’s leading PTA membership organisation.
Second Hand Uniform Shop
The OLA PA runs OLA’s second hand uniform shop.
- We also sell house T shirts for £2 if anyone needs one or has outgrown their old one!
- The shop opens once a month starting from 13 June from 3 to 5pm.
Please email your requirements during term-time and we will do our best to help. We have a wide range of stock from Lower to Senior School all at half the price of the cost on Stevensons, along with house t-shirts, swim bags and other items.
If you have any preloved OLA school uniform items that you would like to sell, please follow the instructions on the Second Hand Uniform Donation Form below, and drop the items with the completed form into the blue metal parcel drop-box outside the OLA School main entrance. We especially need girls sports kit and blazers, which can be worn until July 2024. You will receive 60% of the price of all items sold or if you wish, you can donate the money to raise funds for the OLA PA.
A big thank you to the very generous parent who recently donated, anonymously, a huge stack of fabulous boys stuff including brand new items, and donated 100% of the proceeds to the PA.
Fundraising
In its time the OLA PA has raised tens of thousands of pounds, which has been spent on equipment and resources to enhance the pupils’ education experience and the school’s facilities. For example, recently we contributed £10,000 to playground equipment and £5,000 for a drama department lighting rig alongside exciting science and sports equipment. Our spending suggestions come from staff, parents and the pupils themselves via the Lower and Senior School Councils.
