Employment Opportunities at OLA

Information for Prospective Candidates

Thank you for your interest in working at Our Lady’s Abingdon. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children and young people in our care and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. To this end we ask that all applicants read the following documents before applying for employment at OLA.

Shortlisted candidates only: prior to interview candidates will be asked to submit a DBS Self Disclosure Form.

Offers of employment are subject to a number of safeguarding checks which are detailed in  the Safer Recruitment document.  Measures include an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and social media check.

Right to work in the UK: the School is unable to offer any sponsorship and can only consider applications from candidates who already possess the right to work in the UK. Applications from those who do not have the right to work will not be acknowledged or considered. Shortlisted applicants will be required to provide proof of their right to work before interview.

Acknowledgment of applications: although we aim to acknowledge receipt of applications within 24 hours, this is not always possible, particularly during holiday times.

Feedback:  we are only able to provide individual feedback to candidates who attend interview.

Minibus Drivers

As OLA pupils travel from a wide catchment area, we are always interested in hearing from people who are interested in minibus driving. To be considered you must possess a valid driving licence which includes category D1 permission, and be happy to work split shifts before and after the school day.  To register your interest please contact Mrs Julie Braley, headspa@ola.org.uk, tel: 01235 524658.

What people say about us

“I’ve never felt more at ease as a new member of staff in a school. OLA is rich with kind staff and welcoming students which creates the family atmosphere necessary to realise the school’s ethos. As a teacher of 10+ years it is refreshing to find pastoral care so firmly at the centre of culture and practice, the benefits of which are evident the moment you step through the door.“
